Girls camp 2008

I finally am in Young womens again! And with this responsibility comes the opportunity to go to girls camp. Our area goes to Heber Valley Camp or Walbash. Pres. Hinckley had either donated or bought 850 acres in the timbers above Heber City, because he wanted our young women to have a place to enough the the outdoors with flushing toilets, nice sleeping quarters and eating areas. So the beginning of Walbash. Each area is named after the great women in our church and this year we got the Margory Pay Hinckley area which is one of the most delightful. I didn't know if my back was going to behave, but I was very selfish enough to commit to be one of the lucky ones to go. I truly believe that girls camp is a program inspired my our Heavenly Father. To my surprise they have the program that I had a hand in teaching some 20 years ago, which is the land of Destiny. I helped start it while in Bluffdale. But when I came to Utah county they had improved campgrounds and so my Land of Destiny didn't fit in. But it survived and is still being taught in the Springville Stake. That really touch my heart. I have to admit that I was really taken back to the days when my daughters and their friends where at camp. I was very teary a lot of the time missing all of you not being there. For you where my spirit of past camping. But as the days went by and such cold and wet weather the spirit really had softened many a heart and testimonies where strengthened. I never thought that I would go up a 45 to 50 ft pole and scale a tiny cable and zip down to safety, and live to tell the tale. What fun for this old lady's heart. Well enough of my rattling on I hope you enjoy my slide show.
